Catholic Religious Emblems Program
Duty to God and Duty to Country. These principles are the foundation on which the boy and girl scout programs are built. The primary mission of scouting is to inspire girls and boys with the highest ideals of character, conduct, patriotism, and service that they may become happy and resourceful citizens. The motivating force in Scouting is a spiritual one. The scout movement encourages boys, girls and adult members to become stronger in their own faith.

The four Roman Catholic emblem programs:
- Light of Christ - for Tiger or Wolf Cub Scouts (requirements must be

- Parvuli Dei - for Bear or Webelos Cub Scouts

Cost of the emblems classes does not exceed $25. Some areas receive
gifts to bring their program cost down. All Catholic Junior High and
High School Boy and Girl Scouts are invited to attend a yearly
religious retreat. Sharon Brubaker is the contact person. Note that
some programs, such as Ad Altari Dei, do a retreat as part of the
program and may or may not participate in the NCCCS sponsored retreat.
Are you interested in running an emblems class in your area?
Training is offered for Catholic Scout Leaders who are called to be coordinators or counselors for the Religious Emblems.
If you would like to be trained, please send an email to Kelley Wittmeyer.
