Silver Beaver Award Nomination

Silver Beaver Award The Longs Peak Council annually selects top volunteers from around the Council to receive Scouting's highest award and Council and give - the Silver Beaver. These are volunteers who have given selflessly of their time, talents and funds to promote the Scouting movement and provide a quality program for the youth in our communities. Each year we ask volunteers to nominate their peers who fit this category. We want the best of the best, the cream of the crop. If you know a volunteer who has not already been awarded the Silver Beaver and you feel he/she is worthy of this high honor, please fill out the nomination form and send it to: CampRegistration@longspeakbsa.org or fax to 970.330.7961.

All nominations must be received in the Greeley Service Center no later than 5 PM, January 9, 2015.

Selections will be made by a group of Silver Beaver recipients and once those selections are made the person who made the nomination will be notified so they can in turn notify the new recipient. The Silver Beaver Awards will be presented at the Longs Peak Council Recognition Event on Saturday, March 28, 2015. There will be more information to follow on that event and it's registration process. The Silver Beaver's that are selected will be able to attend the event free of charge.

If you have any questions please contact Billy Riley at 970.584.2218.

The Award

The Silver Beaver Award is presented by the National Council, Boy Scouts of America, through the local Council to adult volunteer Scouters for their distinguished service to youth and their community.

The Award is intended to acknowledge noteworthy service of exceptional character to youth by registered Cub Scouters, Scouters, Varsity Scouters, and Venturing leaders within the territory under the jurisdiction of the local Council.

It is considered to be the highest award a Boy Scout Council can bestow upon a volunteer Scouter.

Eligibility

Any registered adult Scouter (21 or older) who has a record of quality service to Scouting, his or her community, and non-Scouting youth, is eligible for nomination. Nominations will not be considered for former professional Scouters or Council employees within 5 years of their leaving employment with the BSA (i.e., any form of full-time or part-time employment such as secretary, ranger, or professional technical position). Nominations cannot be considered for posthumous awards.

Nominations

(Older forms or the generic applications found on other internet sites will not be accepted or considered.)

Nominations are due in the Farr Service Center in Greeley by the above deadline. Individuals nominated for last year who were not selected will have their nominations automatically placed in consideration for this year only. Updated information would be appreciated.
