In 1997 it was determined to go with a standard emblem without a year embroidered on it. It was also decided to restrict this emblem to one per participant. With this restriction a second emblem was made as a trading post sale emblem. The one with the elk antlers is the one earned by campers. During the manufacture of this emblem the instructions for size were misinterpreted, and both emblems were made larger than desired. Both emblems were designed by Bob Denise
