Family Camping Patch

Aproved Camping Sites for Family Outings
by the Cub Scout Pack


Prior to Camping as a Family Outing, A Pack Must:
  1. Have an adult leader who will accompany the group who has completed BALOO (Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation) Training.
  2. Secure an approved Tour Plan.
  3. Follow BSA youth protection and Guide to Safe Scouting regulations and polices.
  4. Use good judgement as to the time of the year, and the suitability of some camping locations.

 Council camps are approved for Cub Scout camping as indicated below. Program activities, summer operations, facility maintenance, lack of water, may restrict use availability.

A first aid trained adult must accompany the pack or den.

Packs or dens attending a session at the Jack Nicol Cub Scout Family Camp are not required to have a BALOO trained leader or a first aid trained leader.

Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award

Tiger Cubs, Wolf and Bear Cub Scouts, and Webelos Scouts have the opportunity to earn the Cub Scout Outdoor Activity Award.

The patch is worn on the right pocket flap of the Cub Scout’s or Webelos Scout’s uniform shirt.
