Conservation Easement for the Ben Delatour Scout RanchNews Release - The Conservation Fund
November 18th, 2011 CONGRATULATIONS! It is with a great of satisfaction that I inform you that the Forest Legacy Program Conservation Easement of the Forest Service, USDA, for the Ben Delatour Scout Ranch closed today, November 18th, 2011 between the Longs Peak Council, BSA, and the Colorado State Forest Service (easement holder). This means that seven years of very hard work by numerous individuals has now come also to a close, and that the wonderful natural environment of the 3,201 acre Ben Delatour Scout Ranch is now essentially protected forever from development. A great deal of praise must go to The Conservation Fund who provided the expertise and direction in this effort that ultimately brought the entire project to today's finality. Without their assistance this project would never have happened. Although there are numerous rewards associated with this effort the most gratifying to me is that Scouts of the future will continue to enjoy this spectacular outdoor enviroment in which to do Scouting.
