Information for the Parents of a New Cub Scout
YOUR SON, SCOUTING, AND YOU
Scouting . . . an aid to parents
As a parent, you want your son to grow up to be a person of worth, a self-reliant, dependable and caring individual. Scouting has these same goals in mind for him. Since 1910, we've been weaving lifetime values into fun and educational activities designed to assist parents in strengthening character, good citizenship, and physical fitness in youth.
Scouting is family values… At the same time, Cub Scout-age boys don't join Scouting just to get their character built. Boys join because it is fun.
SCOUTING IS FUN WITH A PURPOSE!!
With all the negative influences in today's society, Scouting is there to provide your son with a positive peer group and a program that is fun and adventurous and helps him to "BE PREPARED" to shape his own future.
All the Details
When your son joined a Long's Peak Council Cub Scout Pack, you should have received a Family Orientation Booklet with general information on Cub Scouting, and specific information about your new Pack. If you didn't get one, please download and print our online version (minus the details on your Pack).
