ScoutMail Policies 
General Guidelines
- Scoutmail must be directly related to Scouting in our Council/Districts
- Send information most recipients would want to know about, and target the area / program level.
- Use sparingly for non-trivial information.
- Ask council webmaster if you're not sure about the kinds of things we should send.
- Council Approval (District webmasters - ask your DE when in doubt)
- Verify information / dates are correct before sending.
- Check your email to see if someone else has already sent the info.
- Keep messages short - reference packet, web page or mailings for details.
- Follow YP (first name + last initial only, no contact info).
- Follow member privacy policies (permission for contact info).
- Do not send repeated reminders about the same event (one early/initially and one before deadline OK).
- Avoid giving the impression of spam.
- Use normal sentence capitalization (ALL CAPS is rejected by some spam filters).

- Advertising for particular Unit's Fundraiser
- Advertising for Fundraisers or Events of other Organizations
